Some dinosaurs had very long necks and huge bodies. These dinosaurs were plant eaters, also called herbivores.

One example is the Brachiosaurus. It had a very long neck and tall front legs. This helped it reach leaves at the tops of tall trees, where other dinosaurs could not eat. By eating high leaves, it did not have to fight for food. Another example is the Diplodocus. It had a long neck to reach plants and a very long tail to help it balance. Its tail could also be used to scare predators away. Being big helped these dinosaurs survive. Their size made it harder for predators to attack them, and their long necks helped them find enough food to stay strong. Being big was a survival advantage in the dinosaur world.
