SEA Games
From 9 to 20 December 2025, many countries in Southeast Asia are joining a big sports event called the SEA Games. Southeast Asia is a part of the world that includes countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

The SEA Games happen every two years. In December 2025, Thailand is the host country. Athletes travel there to play sports, walk together in the opening parade, and compete while people watch and cheer. At the SEA Games, athletes play many sports such as football, swimming, running, badminton, and gymnastics.
Why do athletes train so hard?
Athletes train hard because sports are not easy. They need to be strong, fast, and focused. Many athletes practise almost every day for many years. Training helps them run faster, jump higher, and move better. It also teaches them to keep trying even when things feel hard or tiring.

Why do countries play sports together?
The SEA Games are not only about winning medals. They are also about making friends. When countries play sports together, they learn to respect each other and follow the same rules. Instead of fighting, countries compete peacefully in games.
By bringing athletes together, the SEA Games help countries in Southeast Asia understand one another better. That is why the SEA Games are held — to build friendship, respect, and teamwork between countries.
